1300 HELLHOLE Legend has it that on Good Friday of that year, Dante Alighieri was visited by a dream in which the entire Divine Comedy was laid out before him. After his death in 1321, parts of Paradiso were lost--until providence once again intervened. His son dreamt that Dante appeared before him and showed him a secret compartment in his study where the rest of the manuscript was hidden.
