According to Hugh Stockmayer at Boston's Brattle Book Shop, some of the most valuable editions illustrated by Dore (whose art also enhanced works by such writers as Dante Alighieri, Alfred Tennyson and Edgar Allan Poe) were published by Hachette & Cassell.
