Essays written by Dr. Louis Greiff, professor of English at Alfred University, have been published in a pair of books: a casebook on D.H. Lawrence's Sons and Lovers and the Norton Critical Edition of Joseph Conrad's Heart of Darkness.

Both essays examine the relationship of the books and their respective film adaptations. D.H. Lawrence's Sons and Lovers: A Casebook, published in 2005 by Oxford University Press, contains a chapter from Dr. Greiff's 2001 book, D.H. Lawrence: Fifty Years on Film.
