Even in a brief account of Conrad's adolescent years, it is impossible to leave out the personality of Adam Marek Pulman, Conrad's beloved tutor. Many biographers of Conrad (among them Batchelor, Watts, Knowles, Koc, to name only a few persons) mention the fact that A. M. Pulman gave private lessons to young Jozef Teodor in the years 1870-73.
