A 130 kilómetros al sur de Madrid hay una vasta llanura sólo interrumpida por una loma coronada por las ruinas de un castillo medieval y 11 enormes molinos de viento.

El poblado a los pies de la colina, en pleno corazón de La Mancha, se llama Consuegra y no tiene más de 6,000 habitantes.

Hace casi 4 siglos, esta planicie inspiró a Cervantes el escenario para muchas de las aventuras de su legendario personaje: fue allí, por ejemplo, donde Don Quijote cargó contra los molinos de viento, convencido de que eran monstruos diabólicos.
