ALEXANDRIA, Va., July 24 /U.S. Newswire/ -- According to a new article appearing in the August issue of the Journal of Dental Research, Don Miguel de Cervantes, author of "The Ingenious Noble, Don Quixote from la Mancha," is the son of a 16th century dentist.
Numerous references to illnesses of the mouth, as well as detailed knowledge of dental matters, appear in the works by Cervantes. Many biographers believe this is a result of Cervantes having a very broad cultural knowledge.
