EMILY Bronte's dark romance Wuthering Heights has always attracted the adapters.
It has been turned in a Hollywood film, television serials, stage plays, a song by Kate Bush and a musical starring Cliff Richard.
The latest to tackle it is Wirral nurse Sue Lincoln, long a fan of the book.
"It's been my favourite since school days when I did it for O-Level, " she says. "In a way, it has taken over my life."
She studied drama on a John Moores University course and wrote a few one-act plays. But Wuthering Heights remained the big one.
