London, July 10 -- British PM Gordon Brown has likened himself to disturbed Emily Bronte anti-hero Heathcliffe from 'Wuthering Heights'.

Brown made the comparison in a new interview to New Statesman magazine that was meant to soften his image.

Instead, it has backfired with his political opponents getting another opportunity to mock him.

In the interview, Mr Brown says people are "absolutely correct" when they compare him to Heathcliff, reports The Telegraph.
