CHICAGO, April 16 /PRNewswire/ -- A rare first-edition copy of renowned illustrator Beatrix Potter's first book, "The Tale of Peter Rabbit," as well as an even scarcer copy of her first work as an illustrator, were bought today for $142,500 in heated bidding at a Christie's auction in New York by Chicago- area businessman and collector Ralph P. Gadiel.
