Beatrix Potter in bloom Whimsy makes flower show blossom for all ages

Beatrix Potter's animal characters haven't exactly come to life, but they have come to town, peering out of the greenery.

Potter's Jeremy Fisher has brought his fishing pole, and has taken up residence on a lily pad in a pond at the Bayside Exposition Center in Dorchester. The storybook frog is accompanied by cats, dogs, hedgehogs, an owl, and, of course, Peter Rabbit and Benjamin Bunny -- all large topiaries.
