Everyone knows L. Frank Baum's "Oz" books. But how many know the former Chittenango resident explored Egypt? Few, I'm sure.
Today, Syracuse native David Moyer re-creates the writer's 1906 tour of that country with his wife, Maud. The free event is set for 4 p.m. in the 1916 Room of Syracuse University's Bird Library. The slide lecture is presented by SU Library Associates in cooperation with the Matilda Joslyn Gage Foundation. Gage was the mother of Baum's wife.
