ANTHONY Trollope, the man who wrote the novel, He Knew He Was Right - the story on which the Beeb's latest costume drama starring Scots actress Laura Fraser is based - may have been a world-famous and highly respected author.
But as this documentary reveals, he was also a man torn between his devoted wife Rose and a young American who entranced him - and had a major impact on the way he wrote females into his books.
The documentary is narrated by Stephen Fry and features segments of drama in which Clive Merrison plays the writer.
