Differences between anonymous and confidential registrants for HIV testing - Seattle, 1986-1992.

The characteristics of anonymous and confidential registrants who were tested for HIV in a Seattle, WA, clinic between Jun 1986 and Mar 1992 were studied. The results showed that 6,556 of the 9,993 people who wished to be tested registered anonymously. Approximately the same proportion of anonymous and confidential male registrants did not return for their results. Some 7.8% of the confidential female registrants and 5.6% of the anonymous female registrants did not return for their results.
