ANONYMOUS GOOD WORKS DESERVE TO BE RECOGNIZED

"Anonymous" is my favorite charitable donor. And one of my favorite songwriters, too.

Don't get me wrong. I do read playbills, papers and programs, noting donor names charmingly categorized into, say, "cherubim, angels, mighty archangels." Publicity inspires good works and reminds us that we're in this symphony together. So, I rejoice when hitherto- unsung heroes are serenaded.

Take the case of some good souls at Roanoke College. Several "cases," actually, thanks to the anonymous donations of box after box of diapers to our area's Refugee and Immigration Services.
