A secret Santa has stepped in at the last minute to save Dartmouth from a 'blacked out' Christmas.

An anonymous benefactor has come up with a Christmas present of cash to help pay for the town centre Christmas lights that Dartmouth was about to miss out on.

The money - believed to be thousands of pounds - will pay for the usual town lights which go up around the town centre street stretching from Victoria Road to Newcomen Road in Dartmouth.
