Living anonymous kidney donation is the best option to expand the kidney donor pool in the United States. Currently there are 56,558 patients waiting on the national list for a non-living donor kidney. Five thousand to 6,000 people die each year waiting for a kidney transplant (United Network for Organ Sharing, 2003). Kidney trans plantation provides excellent renal replacement treatment for the fortunate patients. However, the incidence of patients diagnosed with end stage renal disease (ESRD) has tar exceeded the supply of kidneys. ...
