Many oppose bill to block anonymous e-mail

WASHINGTON, May 18, 2001 (United Press International via COMTEX) -- People in the Internet, privacy and education communities have come out against legislation that would force public schools and libraries to block access to anonymous e-mail and Web browsing sites.

Rep. Felix Grucci, R-N.Y., has introduced H.R. 1846, the "Who is E-mailing Our Kids Act," to protect children from being recruited for the "violent and illegal activities" of radical environmental and animal rights organizations. He told United Press ...
