A "lost" manuscript of Ludwig van Beethoven's "Grosse Fuge" for piano _ possibly the most important Beethoven discovery in more than a century _ has sold for 1 million pounds (euro1.46 million US$1.72) to an anonymous buyer, Sotheby's auctioneers said.
Sotheby's described the manuscript, discovered in a seminary library in the U.S. state of Pennsylvania, as "an astounding and important discovery," and possibly the most substantial Beethoven manuscript to come up for sale in more than a century.
