The Minnesota Timberwolves and general manager Kevin McHale signed former Celtic Stojko Vrankovic, a 7-foot-2-inch center and member of the Croatian Olympic team, to a three-year contract yesterday. The Wolves had been looking for another center since trading Andrew Lang to the Milwaukee Bucks. They acquired Cherokee Parks from Dallas earlier this summer and plan to use a rotation at the position. Vrankovic averaged 1.9 points and 1.5 rebounds for the Celtics in 50 games from 1990-92 . . . The Celtics signed free agent forward Nate Driggers, 22, who averaged 23.6 points and 7.7 rebounds in 19 ...
