A MARRIED policeman accused with a colleague of raping a woman told a court yesterday that he was ashamed of causing his wife pain by being unfaithful.

PC Mark Witcher broke down in tears as he denied 'cooking up a plan' with PC Andrew Lang to take the mother of three home and assault her.

He claimed he and Lang, both 30, were seduced by the hairdresser after she told them it was her fantasy to have a threesome with two men in uniform.

Witcher said the sex was consensual and claimed he was 'amazed it had happened'.
