    As every parent will attest, you can tell a child to say ``please'' and ``thank you'' until you're blue in the face, but the only words he will reliably remember in front of his grandparents are the four-letter ones he heard when you hit your thumb with a hammer. Which probably explains why the only things the Russians seem to have learned about capitalism are crime and how to organize pyramid schemes. 
    Since Russia scrapped its command economy three years ago and moved to establish free markets, it would appear they've been studying Al Capone instead of Adam Smith.
