Just a reminder to those who are not familiar with the rules:

At this stage, there are not draws. If the tie is not broken at the end of the game, the teams will play an extra 30 minutes. If there is still no winner, it will be determined by penalty shootouts.

So, please bet on one of the teams.

I have so far accumulated a record of 8 out of 8 missed predictions. Because I love my country's team, I am going to limit myself to betting on one game tomorrow.

    30 Gideons on Uruguay.

"But do you really, seriously, Major Scobie," Dr. Sykes asked, "believe in hell?"
    "Oh, yes, I do."
    "In flames and torment?"
"Perhaps not quite that. They tell us it may be a permanent sense of loss."
"That sort of hell wouldn't worry me," Fellowes said.
"Perhaps you've never lost anything of importance," Scobie said.

I cant remember whose playing who.

As an experiment, I shall bet on one team chosen by drawing them out of a hat.

And one team, chosen after careful consideration, drawing on all my knowledge and expertise of the beautiful game.

Hey, leave it alone, there is something of the aura attached to it for me, I love it!

Speaking of auras, am I the only one who things that Maradona has this powerful aura attached to him? In the same way as Pele or perhaps more so, I see him as a sort of living legend, I mean just look at how the camera loves him, there is something powerful, magnetic, about the man for me. I know in the past he as bent the truth on the pitch (but all in the cause of his country) and he has had issues with drugs and mental stability and all of that, but still I feel he has a fascinating personality; I'd really like to meet the man.

    Neely: 85 Party time again.

Actually in real life I have been making a little bit of money in the bookings market, (enough to fund my beer so far) it is just in predicting the wins it has been an unpredictable tournament at times.

Looking forward to the knockout stages. I think today's matches are fairly tough to predict though but I'm going for Uruguay, I'm still thinking about the USA Ghana match, could go either way, good luck all.

    Uruguay win 35.

The World Cup may not be a cup, but at least the 'world' part of it is accurate and honest. Unlike, for instance, the World Series. When the Nottingham Sheriffs are given the opportunity to make it to the Superbowl, then you can call it a World Series.

    Uruguay winning: 40 coins
    USA winning: 20 coins
