Believe me. I find Robert Downey Jr. to be a very charismatic actor, and might even make a good Sherlock Holmes, had not the screenplay been filled with explosions and fist-fights.

I'm not dismissing it. It could be a perfectly fine movie. I just can't stand this kind of trend going on in Hollywood. Do producers think that audiences would be unable to stand for Sherlock Holmes unless they add some special effects?

yeah, that's not the movies themselves, but the production companies that helped to fund the movie. They put the stuff in the trailers that they think will help to fill seats. Some of the best movies can be promoted in this way, Avatar, Up In The Air, Inglourious Basterds, Precious, and many other movies that could've helped to have less obnoxious trailers.

Typically, I wouldn't be excited about the commercialization of something as magnificent as Sherlock Holmes, but there's just something about it that makes me curious. I'm also excited to see how they work Irene Adler into it.
I'm weary with right-angles, abbreviated daylight,
Waiting for a winter to be done.
Why do I still see you in every mirrored window,
In all that I could never overcome?

    Coming to Cannes 2010. ... . . .hopefully

At last, the great Orson Welles' final film is on the brink of completion. Upon principle photography being completed back in 1976 Welles had trouble finding financing to complete his film, and thus had remained incomplete and neglected for over 30 years until recently when Peter Bodanavitch (who also stars in the film) took it upon himself to complete the lost film of the greatest director who ever lived.

It's called The Other Side of the Wind and is filmed in Welles' uniquely experimental style of his late period with hyper-fast cuts and a hallucinatory free-floating camera.

    Here's two clips
