Welcome to the site! And I definately think you deserve a room full of computers! In this day and age you almost need them! Plus there is plenty of computer work that could be done in theatre! Hope you like the site! Its a good one.

    Hello everyone!
I'm Barbara and I teach English language and literature to German students aged 10 - 20. Actually it's the first chatroom ever where I log in and post something. So first question: Was "reply" correct or should I have opened a new thread? And where do you get all these smilies and pictures from?

    Welcome to the Forum, Barbara!

If you look at the left bottom hand under the posts, you should see a button which says 'Post Reply'. Click on that and you will be able to see smilies.

You can find information about how to post images here:

Well I'm new here and i guess I've got nothing to say that i don't say in poetry. I can be so boring even my clothes have trouble sticking around. Words though, now they and i go way back. Sometimes I feel I'm having an affair with words because i can hear music in them that I'm beginning to think might not be there. At least not in my work. But what can you do. I was the sperm that won the race so this is my life and these evenings are my time to write and post. So here goes. I'm a free verser. And rather than choosing the best word i will often choose the truthful one. My styles a bit odd, and sometimes works and sometimes it doesn't. I also spell badly and my grandma is worse.

This is a poem about from my poetic source to my physical shell. There are some colourful words in there but it's not vulgar and if you find it vulgar then i may have to move on. Here goes.

    My Siamese Brother

He is mushroom with out me,
hiding in the dark of his own brooding inertia.

    He is good for carrying things;
for typing and placing new paper in the printer.

He breaks from me . . . constantly.
I think he is having an affair with the TV.

He likes Sex, TV, sex, videos,
    sex, TV and more videos:
Especially if the videos are to do with sex.

    He does my bidding eventually,
once I make his head sore.

He likes what I give him:
as a child marvels over the broken shells
the ocean leaves on its shores.

    We are connected by him.
    He can exist without me
but only with luck, will I live without him,
or parts of my shedded skin
pressed into the pages, like dull butterflies.

He is wanting to go now.
He hates it when I take up time.

He is my limbs and lungs:
I am his hidden places: his microscope:
his angel simmering in a red devil’s skin.

    I am his Siamese twin
I leave a stain of words
    To measure my search.

Well, that's a good one, Morlep. Sounds a bit Freudian. Did you read Siegmund Freud before writing your poem?
Can I give it to my students for analysis?

  9. #1944
Yes you can give it to your students if you tell them i have visual poetry site at threeminutes10.com and a blog their too where i post a new poem daily.

And no, of course i heard of him, but i left school in what I think you American's call grade school.

I just wrote this one. Just now and its in reply to all the sadness i find in some many posted poems. Thank you also for your lovely reply.

    Food

    My daughter doesn’t hug me
She throws herself at me and knows I’ll catch her
    Then feeds on my touch.

    My son does it too.
Curls up against me on the couch and presses.

I’ve had this from other people before, and no doubt I ate off my mother
    And even my dad.

And then there’s that period where we don’t eat.
Where we move away and starve for some reason that’s not evident.

Some of us never feed again
But choke our souls on the supplements
    We convince ourselves are nourishing.

Round here, in the parts of the news that never make the air,
    Everybody is killing themselves.

Kids, fathers, mothers, grandmothers, old men who’ve lost their wives, and kids.

    Underline kids.

    I don’t get it.

    I don’t.

But I wish I had more food.

I wish I could pull the blue days down onto a table of touch
And have you sad ones roll in the joy.

    ‘Cause there is joy.
    There is.
    And it’s real.
    And you can touch it.
And it’s so much more lovely
    than the cold.

Just found this site a few moments ago. I grew tired of the other site I was posting on. I'm not a very open person. I tend to keep to myself, most of the time. I soppose you could say I'm a shy... Anyway, hello...

You're correct. It's from Hellraiser. I thought about going by my myspace name ( Nemesis Cenobite ) but I chose to just stick with Cenobite.
