Exactly what I thought when I first found out that Jay was not a native speaker. She speaks (types? ) English so well that I couldn't believe she was not a native speaker and then couldn't help wondering at the Czech education system but, I think, a lot of credit goes to Jay herself.

She is a natural when it comes to languages!

*gasp* you had English in elementary school????? wuuuuuargh, that's so unfair over here it's still being introduced and they are retraining elementary school teachers who never studied English. So the kids pick up attrocious accents from them.

Maybe I am just a bit numb as to what goes on outside the states, but I always wondered how the whole english class idea went on...like, if German kids studied German grammar, Japanese studied Japanese grammar, and English kids learned English grammar...or if there were countries that studied English...sorry...my brain is farting.

???? *please specify your query*, grace86

Do you mean "How does foreign language teaching work?"
If that's what you mean, I'll open a new thread to explain it later ( hello Scher. Oh, all-seeing and omniscient moderator, where should I open that thread? In the seaching subforum or general chat?)

Nice interview, Jay! Born in December 1983? You guys just love to make an old man feel older, don't you? I was 23, and had been married 4 years.

Besides, as long as you do as you do, I don't know what old age you are talking about.

Hey, it's not my fault! I had very little say in when I was to be born
    I have a plan: attack!

The next Lit-Net Member Interview will be with

In a land of ice and snow,
    Where the winter breezes blow,
    We dance into the night,
    Doing our mystic rites,
    With our brothers, coal-black crows!
Send in your questions now to get to know the mysterious we better!
I sang of leaves, of leaves of gold, and leaves of gold there grew.

Pendragon, pendragon. A poet who writes stunningly well.

A reminder: Please send me the questions you want to ask from Taliesin in next twenty-four hours, via PM. The interview is quite ready. But I am waiting for more questions, the more the merrier!

Ah...being internet-less is quite a pity. I can imagine an internet-less life for eight days. Ummm...well questions have been sent to Taliesin already, but there might be a follow-up interview so point-to-point questions could be asked.
