    No way to delete membership?

Never mind deleting, but I am done posting my fiction here. I'm going into "lurk" mode I think ...

    Its been fun, though! :-)

    Hello,

Could you please PM me why you would like to delete your account?

Hopefully it isn't because of the feedback you've gotten. Nobody wants to see you go, personally- and admittedly some of the feedback has been of the 'harsh and honest' variety. On the other hand, your stories get a lot of readership/feedback. You've already had greater success than this reader on that forum (most of Jack of Hearts' threads only have one response from hillwalker).

Even if it seemed harsh, that just means people believe you have the inherent skill to do better. That's way way better than readers behaving complacently toward you. Or the worst fate of all: astounding silence.

And Scher, if you're still watching this thread, a question: is there really a nuclear option for account deletion?

Is there a need to delete an account, when you can simply never use it again?

It would be good to know if content such as poetry/stories is easily removed en masse from these pages. This consideration will and has affected this reader's usage of these forums. The moderators here have been truly great about removing specific poems/stories from the boards by request- this has made it easy and stress free for this reader to post here. It's really a great environment to share.

    Hi Jack,

It is not possible to delete an account but it can be closed on extreme cases when there is an issue of safety or privacy invasion. However, it is not possible to delete someone's posts en masse.

This is also not desirable as it would leave huge gaps in conversations as you can imagine.

    Thanks for the response.

Just for clarity, this extends to posts such as stories or poems written by the user as well? Not just responses to, say, others' creative works or created/responses to conversational threads (like in the General forum)?

And as there is an edit button, submitted content is somewhat under the control of the user- but the ability to edit is a time limited feature. Is there any way to request this ability reactivated for older posts?

Sorry if this is somewhat off-topic for this thread, but as someone who regularly shares creative content this reader feels these questions are important.

I think the mechanics of your writing are quite good. The content has been strange at times, but it was very interesting to read. I do hope you'll continue to post here. The best way to get back at your critics is not to leave, but to prove us wrong by writing piece after piece after piece until you're such an expert that no one can fault you. It's not as hard as it seems. It just takes determination.

It can be rather discouraging, at times. People are often overly harsh. This is supposed to be a community, not a fraternity.

Volya thank you. Somehow I was wishing to read your own version of it.
Fraternity is a french derived word from the word FRERE which means brother.
So another word for BROTHERHOOD. I just needed to know what it meant in English
A bit the french latin quote one has on the English passportDieu et Mon Droit and or at entrances of Court Houses
Fraternity Egality Eternity or something like that.

Could've made the announcement without posting. Way to make it low key.
