I'll take #1 because they're my favorite, being the most versatile.

I'll take #3 as it is the only choice left.... :arf:

I prefer paper clips.

Maryd Wins!

Yeh... I won something.

Ok, my turn.

1. I recently shaved my head.
2. I have a stuffed red dragon sitting beside my computer when I type.
3. I once shared a townhouse with 3 other people.
4. I do not own a slowcooker
5. I always wear the colour purple.

MatthewFarlow

Number 2.

Calidore

I'll take 1.

Themis

Number 4's the only one left, so I'll take that. ;-)

Maryd.
08-19-2011, 09:35 PM
Thanks guys. Well the only reason I would shave my head is if I had an illness. I love my hair. :) I almost shared a town house with two women and a man, but two out of three of them found partners and moved in with them. Too expensive to rent just the two of us. So I missed out. Loved that place. :( I bought a slow cooker before winter this year and I swear by it. Buy one ladies, they're cheap and they cook up a storm. :) And no, cannot stand the colour purple.

Yes MF, I have a small red dragon beside my computer. It was gifted to me by someone special. I don't dare toss it out. :)

My doctor has examined me and determined that I have a rare addiction:

1. I am a celery addict. I eat celery for all of my meals and rarely anything else. Since celery is a food that requires more calories to digest than is in the vegetable itself, I am unhealthily underweight.
2. I am a travel addict. Since I travel to undeveloped countries often, I require many vaccines to ward off all kinds of diseases. Cumulatively, this has strained my immune system and as a result, it is very weak and dependent upon shots to keep me healthy.
3. I am a novelholic. My doctor could tell that I wasn't getting much sleep as soon as I walked into his office; then, after taking off my shirt, it was clear that I wasn't exercising like I used to. After shooting that lit magnifying lens into my eyes to find them strained and bloodshot, he determined that I had been sitting around reading all day and through the night. Some books I just CAN'T put down!
4. I am a waterholic. I drink approximately two gallons of water a day (7 liters is the minimum for an abuser). This much water thins the blood and causes electrolytes and minerals to be 'excreted' to a potentially fatal level. Plus, the damage it can cause on my bladder is virtually irreversible.
5. I am a facial hair junkie. "I've seen your facial hair addiction growing slowly over the past year or so," my doctor told me as I staggered into his office with two canes, my skin pale, "Your obsession has reordered the brain's nutritional priorities; it uses the majority of nutrients in your diet to grow those bristles, and your body gets whatever is left over. Your beard is literally starving your body."

Can you SPOT THE TRUTH?

Maryd.
08-20-2011, 12:51 AM
Wow fury face. This is one long one.

But I'll go for the water addiction. No 4 please. :)

I think I will take #2...

Themis

I'll take number 3.
Although the fifth would fit in nicely with your avatar...

Calidore

I'll go with 5, per the avatar.

Snowqueen

I have no choice left so, number 1.

MatthewFarlow
08-21-2011, 05:04 PM
Maryd wins again! It is true, I am considered an aquaholic. The average person requires 1.5 to 2 liters of water in a day. I drink seven. My doctor thinks I need 3 or so, but since I am in perfect health (knock on wood), he sees no real need for me to cut back.

1. I like celery, but not like that.
2. I do travel a lot and get some vaccines as a result. However, I haven't done any damage to my immune system. I could see a greedy doctor telling me I needed to buy a bunch of shots all the time to keep me healthy.
3. Just being on litnet should make this one seem plausible; but no, I don't read enough for it to be detrimental to my well-being.
4. Glug glug.
5. No matter how much one wants to grow a beard, I think that the rewiring of the brain is impossible (at least I hope it is). I am pleasantly surprised that this option was not last to be chosen. That must mean I am extra convincing - Muahaha! I'll have to thank my artsy friend for taking that picture.

Batter up!

Maryd.
08-21-2011, 05:28 PM
Ok... This one will knock your socks off.

1. Last night I fell asleep on the floor.
2. Every night I fall asleep on the floor.
3. After this post I will never post on Litnet again
4. All of the above.
5 Liver and kidney are my favouite foods to eat.

MatthewFarlow
08-21-2011, 05:46 PM
The number one, please.

Calidore
08-21-2011, 08:27 PM
I'm hoping not 3 or 4, and I can't imagine 5, so I'll take 2.

Pendragon
08-22-2011, 03:51 PM
I'll take 5, as I couldn't see either 3 or 4 being right

Maryd.
08-23-2011, 12:50 AM
Come on guys... 2 more answers to go and I can end this. :)

Themis
08-23-2011, 03:02 PM
Just so you can end this I'll take number 4 (and thus, number 1, 2 and 3, too :biggrin5:)

Maryd.
08-23-2011, 03:19 PM
Oh Themis, how clever are you? I mean if you put two and two together, you get 4. Get it 4... All of the above. Haha. My jokes are getting worse with age...

Ok, no, I did not sleep on the floor the other night, nor do I sleep on the floor any other night. So that rules 1 and 2 out. That pretty much rules 4 out since only one of the three are correct (talk about play with numbers... hahaha) And I dispise liver and kidney with a vengeance.

Therefore the answer is 3 and even though Themis you answered 4 then you pretty much answered 3 as well. Boy I made a confusing mess out of that one. Ah, never mind. It's your turn none the less.

Although I almost tell a fib, that wasn't my last post. This is...

I'm gonna jump start this, but it is sad to see MaryD go...:frown2:

1) I like the cartoon strip "Doonesbury"
2) I like the cartoon strip "My Cage"
3) I like the cartoon strip "Baby Blues"
4) I like the cartoon strip "Frank & Ernest"
5) I like the cartoon strip "Rhymes With Orange"

Calidore

I personally would have a hard time choosing between Doonesbury and Baby Blues, but I'll go with 3.

Pendragon

Wow, Cal! Got it in one!

1) I like the cartoon strip "Doonesbury" I find Doonesbury very boring!

2) I like the cartoon strip "My Cage" Used to read it, then it seemed to just stop or something...

3) I like the cartoon strip "Baby Blues" Yep! Even have most of the books! I'm missing the last two...

4) I like the cartoon strip "Frank & Ernest" Poorly drawn and plays too much on puns...

5) I like the cartoon strip "Rhymes With Orange" Ditto on the poor drawing...

So, Calidore, you're up! :ihih::ihih::ihih:

Calidore
09-01-2011, 11:41 AM
Not too hard. You've presented yourself as a fan of Doc Savage and the Shadow, and thus as a man who knows quality when he sees it. And Jerry Scott is a genius; he even managed to make Nancy funny.

I love Doonesbury, but that type of humor doesn't work for everyone. I remember liking Frank & Ernest when I was a kid, but it's awfully lame as an adult. I don't know the other two.

I don't drive, but if I did and were able to afford my dream car, it would be one of the following:

1) Chrysler Imperial (Green Hornet)
2) Lincoln Futura (Batman (1966))
3) Pontiac Trans Am (Knight Rider)
4) Dodge Charger (Dukes of Hazzard)
5) Ford Falcon XB GT Coupe (Mad Max)

Number 3.

Calidore
10-10-2011, 09:43 PM
Probably time to call this, since it's over a month since I made the original post and the winner's already decided.

My dream car would be #1, though not due to its looks (for aesthetic muscle-car appeal, I'd go for the one nobody picked, the Mad Max "interceptor"). My interest is more practical. While channel surfing a while ago, I came across the start of an actual demolition derby, which I hadn't seen on TV since I was a kid. The announcers were running down the list of entered cars (all '70s tanks like Oldsmobiles, Buicks, etc.) and mentioned that the one car that's illegal in every demolition derby in the country is the Chrysler Imperial, because it's 5200 pounds of steel. So that's what I want--a car that can take a hit from any cell-phone-using/texting/makeup-applying/tooth-flossing moron on the road without even blinking.

Scheherazade, you win.

Scheherazade

Scheherazade, you win.Music to my ears! Could not hear this often enough!

So...

When I was young, I wanted to be:

1. a chemist.

2. a doctor.

3. a nurse.

4. a singer.

5. a police officer.

Yo, cafolini! Every choice has been taken. Who won?

Depends on age. But on a regular basis, 1 or 3.
3 is best. 1 would be as good if it weren't for the syrup. Use toasted carob to sweeten both a little.

Post 4 lies and one truth for others to guess.
So, in the spirit of this 'sleeping thread', I will post four lies and one truth. :)
