Tom, Huck, and Jim set sail to Africa in a futuristic hot air balloon, where they survive encounters with lions, robbers and fleas, to see some of the world's greatest wonders, including the Pyramids and the Sphinx. Like Adventures of Huckleberry Finn and Tom Sawyer, Detective the story is told using the first-person narrative voice of Huck Finn. It is a sequel, set in the time following the title story of the Tom Sawyer series.
Tom gets anxious to go on another journey, after "The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn" got him a bullet wound. He wants to have bragging rights over another traveler in the village, and both of their stories are getting pretty worn thin. When a balloon exhibit comes to land near the village, of course Tom has to go and see it. The exhibiter of the balloon turns out to be a madman, and he pulls Tom, Huck, and Jim into the wildest adventure yet.--Submitted by Anonymous.
