An Elizabethan drama about the deposition of King Edward II by his barons and the Queen, who resented the undue influence of the king's favorites in court and state affairs. The play was entered into the Stationers' Register on 6 July 1593, five weeks after Marlowe's death.
Dealing with homosexual themes, this play follows the reign of and downfall of Edward the Second, King of England.
