At 25, newspaper man John Winthrop’s dreams of love, fortune and happiness are over. Dan Hillars, a daring reporter and adventurer, is Winthrop’s college roommate and friend. Hillars’ love for Princess Hildegarde and his disappearance send Winthrop on a journey from New York to London. At the same time Winthrop is assigned to follow and report on the wilful Princess Hildegarde and her court appointed husband Prince Ernst. Intrigue, imprisonment and duels follow. He discovers one princess and loses another. But it is Gretchen the lovely barmaid who forces John Winthrop to question his love for Phyllis.--Submitted by N. Moghadam.
