How to modernise the Taming of the Shrew

Just thinking, if an acting company wanted to modernise this play, they could change the setting to Saudi Arabia or Iran.
According to Aldous Huxley, D.H. Lawrence once said that Balzac was 'a gigantic dwarf', and in a sense the same is true of Dickens.

The basic theme is an unromantic female falling in love with someone she initially does not like. I recently saw "The bachelor and the bobby-soxer" which seemed to have this theme although this Sidney Sheldon script was written 70 years ago.

You just have the story of Trump and democratic secretary he had to work it. No need to go any of those places, much Less Iran.

Another aspect of this rom-com theme is to have the guy give up on the girl who keeps rejecting him only to have them get together at the end.
