This is a heroic drama, Dryden's best-known and most performed play. It is written in blank verse and an attempt on Dryden's part to reinvigorate serious drama. It is an acknowledged imitation of Shakespeare’s Antony and Cleopatra, and focuses on the last hours of the lives of its hero and heroine.

Hi everyone! I just saw a thread discussing strongest female character. I wonder what are the weakest male characters you ever came across. (I don't mean physically.) As for me two of the weakest male characters are: Edgar Linton from Wuthering Heights and Angel Clare from Tess of the D'Urbervilles
