OMAGH, Northern Ireland -"Too long a sacrifice, can make a stone of the heart," the legendary Irish writer William Butler Yeats once wrote of Ireland's 1916 Easter Rebellion.

But the sight of thousands of Protestants and Catholics gathered in Omagh yesterday suggested hope and unity, not despair and division, are the legacy of the worst bombing of Northern Ireland's Troubles.
