Yeats's 'Mohini Chatterjee' based on the philosophy of transmigration of the soul, is inspired by the Bhagavadgita, a Hindu scripture. The Bhagavadgita is a dialogue between Lord Krishna, an Indian mythological God, and Arjuna, an Indian mythological character, on the battlefield of Kurukshetra, just before the war between the Kauravas and the Pandavas. Krishna teaches Arjuna about the transient nature of life and compares the soul's transmigration to a human being changing garments.
