Introduction:
This final section of Yeats' Collected Poems consists of a group of
verses published in 1938 as New Poems, which were, of course, carefully
arranged and organized by the poet, plus another group of poems which were
left by him when he died and subsequently set by editors into an order that
seemed best to approximate the order he himself would have chosen. The mood
of the poems, however, is fairly consistent throughout. It is the mood of
life acceptance, of affirmation of reality, that informed "From A Full Moon
