Latest 'One Book' pick: classic prairie tale Panel opts for Cather novel, but Chicago works considered

The latest vehicle for turning the City of Big Shoulders into the City of Big Readers is Willa Cather's 1918 classic My Antonia, a story of a strong-willed Bohemian immigrant woman struggling to make a life on the prairies of Nebraska in the 1880s.

Chicagoans are supposed to read this third installment of the citywide book club "One Book, One Chicago" over the next six weeks and be prepared in October to attend gatherings around town and share their thoughts on Cather's eminently readable story.
