U. Nebraska-area Willa Cather Foundation receives land transfer

(Daily Nebraskan) (U-WIRE) LINCOLN, Neb. -- The Willa Cather Foundation had something extra to celebrate at their spring convention in Red Cloud, Neb. They were welcoming back 608 acres of unbroken prairie to be managed by the foundation.

Betty Kort, Executive Director of the Cather Foundation, said the Nature Conservancy was giving the land back to the foundation.

Mildred Bennett, the founder of the Willa Cather Foundation gave it to the conservancy in 1955.
