The World of Yesterday " autobiography by Stefan Zweig. Do you know him? He's brilliant. His key novel is Beware of Pity, which I really recommend. It's like a better version of Wilkie Collins. It's real proof that posterity isn't a good judge of literature " everyone has this idea that it all comes out in the wash but it doesn't.
