So you have your weekend packaged and then along comes something that changes the plan, such as the Virginia Chorale singing four Civil War poems by Walt Whitman Friday and Saturday at 8 p.m. in Norfolk's Maury High School.

Whitman's poems are part of a concert, ``American Delights,'' guest-conducted by renowned Dale Warland from Minneapolis.

Among the works of 14 composers are four by Stephen Foster, including seldom-sung ``Hard Times Come Again No More.''
