TAILORED CLOTHING, FURNISHINGS, SHOES JOIN SPORTSWEAR IN LONG ISLAND UNIT

NEW YORK -- Saks Fifth Avenue has nearly doubled the space devoted to men's wear at its new Walt Whitman Mall store in Huntington, N.Y. The two-level, 100,000-square-foot, full-line store, which is expected to have annual sales of around $40 million, opened Thursday.

Currently, Saks operates a 106,000-square-foot store in Garden City, N.Y. As reported, the retailer is awaiting zoning approval from the town of Hempstead for a 150,000-square-foot, three-level store in the Roosevelt Field Shopping ...
