On a bone-cold recent Sunday, more than a thousand people made their way through sleet and snow to the Guthrie Theater to hear actors talk about their roles in Edward Albee's corrosive play "Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?"

Some at the unadvertised event were tittering theatergoers, excited to hear Tony- and Academy Award-winning actor Mercedes Ruehl talk about the psychology of her character, Martha, made famous by Elizabeth Taylor in the 1966 film version (see accompanying article).
