Por su parte, el poeta le respondía con la misma pasión, pero nunca con la misma frecuencia ni mucho menos con la misma extensión que su amada. Julieta lo llamaba "Toto" y él a ella "Juju". Igualmente ella lo llamaba "mi bien amado" o "adorado".
