Hugo's Spirit Guides New `Hunchback'

Eight-time Joseph Jefferson Award winner David H. Bell is at it again. The 44-year-old Bell's latest theatrical venture is a musical adaptation of Victor Hugo's classic 1831 novel, The Hunchback of Notre Dame, running through March 20 at the Drury Lane Oakbrook Terrace.

For the musical "Hunchback," Bell wrote the play's book, directs, choreographs and co-wrote the song lyrics with Cheri Coons. Tom Sivak penned the music. The same team collaborated on their own musical version of "The Phantom of the Opera" at Drury Lane Oakbrook Terrace in 1991.
