Victor Hugo, D.H. Lawrence, Tennessee Williams, Annie Proulx, Tom Wolfe, Susan Minot, Walter Mosley, Sylvia Plath, and Derek Walcott are among the 100-plus artists in a fascinating exhibit called "The Writer's Brush."

A coffee-table book with the same title is a fitting companion to the show, at Pierre Menard Gallery, 10 Arrow St., Cambridge, through Jan. 15.
