The ashes of Alexandre Dumas (1802-1870) -- French writer famous worldwide for his works the Count ofMonte-Cristro and the Three Musketeers -- will be transported to the Pantheon in Paris, a mausoleum for the remains of great men ofFrance, French President Jacques Chirac announced Tuesday.

Chirac made this announcement when inaugurating an exposition on Victor Hugo to celebrate the bicentennial anniversary of the birth of the great writer, who was born in the same year as Dumas and famous for his The Miserable and Notre Dame de Paris.
