Poet T.S. Eliot has been dismissed by some critics as a typical anti-Semite, while others feel he was writing about anti-Semitism, not in favor of it. Eliot's symbolism was influenced by anti-Semitism's imagination, but he exploited anti-Semitic stereotypes to fresh and disturbing effect.
