Kolkata, Sept. 3 -- With the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) giving up the probe into the theft of Rabindranath Tagore's Nobel medallion, hopes of an elusive breakthrough now hinges on the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) of West Bengal, which had carried out the initial investigation.
"We can carry out the probe. It is a very important case but the order for a CID probe should come through judiciary (judicial magistrate)," CID Deputy Inspector General (Operations) Rajeev Kumar told IANS Monday.
