India and Guyana to intensify culture ties

Georgetown (Guyana), Nov 8 -- India is set to intensify cultural co-operation with Guyana, where 43 percent of the population are of Indian origin, and will also set up a Rabindranath Tagore Resource Centre here.

An agreement to this effect was signed between India's High Commissioner to Guyana Avinash Kumar Gupta and Guyana's Minister for Culture, Youth and Sports Frank Anthony in the presence of visiting Indian Vice-President Bhairon Singh Shekhawat and Guyanese President Bharrat Jagdeo.
