Kolkata, May 9 -- Songs, dance, plays and recitations marked the 145th birth anniversary of poet, philosopher and Nobel laureate Rabindranath Tagore all across West Bengal Tuesday.

From the Jorasanko Thakurbari, the mansion of Tagore here that now houses the Rabindra Bharati University, to the idyllic Santiniketan in Birbhum district - where the Visva-Barati University is located, common people and exponents of Tagore paid him a glowing tribute.
