Fledgling industry seeks to exploit the potential of `Sonar Bangla'

Nobel laureate Rabindranath Tagore called this land "Sonar Bangla," (The Land of Gold) for the bounties Nature had bestowed upon it.

Ancient chroniclers, extolling the land's captivating beauty and comforts of life, described it as "a land of emerald and silver," and "a garden fit for kings."

Bangladesh - dotted with colorful hills, cleaved by gorges, open valleys, serene hill streams and thick evergreen forests and home to the world's longest beach - ironically, still has a fledgling tourism industry.
